WE’RE BEAMING BACK AT MARK AND HIS ‘55 FORD FAIRLANE

If you’ve ever felt ‘that way’ about your car, you’ll know exactly why we’re passionate about helping our customers keep their pride and joy in showroom condition. Recently, we spoke to Mark about his shed full of collector cars and why his ‘55 Crown Victoria Ford Fairlane is his favourite to drive around town.

Mark’s impressive collection of cars started out when he purchased a Pontiac Trans Am. From there it quickly grew to include a number of ‘55 Fairlanes and a whole host of other cars, right up to today when his collection sits at around 18. Mark says that his biggest weakness is looking at cars online late at night, before he knows it he’s pressed ‘buy’ and is trying to make room for another car in his custom built shed. He created the shed because he wanted to have the cars close to him every day so he can work on them, enjoy them and drive them – rather than storing them somewhere offsite.

His favourite car to drive is his blue ‘55 Crown Victoria Ford Fairlane which features a spectacular glass roof. Mark says he loves how bright the glass roof makes the car and he enjoys having his arm out the window while he’s cruising down the road, listening to rock’n’roll from the ‘50s while he’s at it. No matter where Mark parks this beauty, he always manages to draw a crowd of people – it always gives him a buzz to see people appreciating the work he’s put into maintaining his pride and joy.

Mark’s philosophy is that it’s important for the cars to be driven regularly so that they stay in working order. He likes to go on road trips and take his grandchildren for a spin – and is happy that his daughters also enjoy driving the cars regularly. He has listed the Magic Hand Carwash team on his car’s insurance policy and says they are the only ones he trusts to wash his cars. He loves driving his cars down to Magic Hopper’s Crossing and having a coffee and some cake in the cafe before having a chat with the team.

Mark describes his passion for collecting and maintaining his cars as a ‘disease’ and says it runs through his blood. We guess that means that his collection won’t stop growing any time soon. Mark is always beaming at us – and we’re beaming back at you Mark.
